The opening of Sunset Point attracted several hundred last night who celebrated on the 6,000 sf deck at the south end of the Lakeside Boardwalk (the entrance sits near the corner of Edgemere Rd. and Loma Alta Dr.).
The idea of a platform from which to view Grapevine Lake dates back to 2012, when Flower Mound residents were surveyed on their wishes for Lakeside DFW.
“Residents kept telling us that there wasn’t a spot to hang out and enjoy the lake like this,” Richard Myers, managing partner of Realty Capital Management, explained to those gathered for the grand opening.
“If you live in Flower Mound or Lakeside already,” Myers continued, “you’re putting your money where your mouth is, you’re betting on this vision also.”
It appeared that everyone who attended was very happy with the final product.
Rebecca Everitt, development associate with Realty Capital, recognized the project’s general contractor Fast-Trac Construction and their project managers Drew Sibley and Matt Smith.
Everitt also recognized Don Henry of EDI International out of Houston, designers of the deck, as well as the team at Glenn Fence and Deck (Thomas Glenn, Kinney Pereira, and Rick Batey) who built Sunset Point.
Both Myers and Everitt also thanked Town of Flower Mound officials and staff for “aiding and guiding us through this process.”
