Lakeside DFW rebranded as Lakeside Village

Flower Mound’s popular mixed-use community on Lake Grapevine — known to most as Lakeside or Lakeside DFW — is assuming a new identity: Lakeside Village. Welcome to lakesidevillage.com. Note: our older web properties, such as lakesidedfw.com, are re-directing traffic here.

Why the name change? “It’s simple,” said Jordan Dinkins, chief marketing officer of Lakeside Village, “there are dozens of developments, communities, and municipalities in North Texas called Lakeside. Only a couple have the name Lakeside Village.”

“Lakeside was designed as a village right from the start,” added Jimmy Archie, developer of the 160-acre project. “And it has always felt like a village to residents and visitors alike.

“The Lakeside Village name captures the spirit of the community’s past and present,” he said, “as well as its future.”

The colors of Lakeside Village’s quatrefoil take inspiration from Lake Grapevine and its sandstone cliffs.

That future includes a dining and entertainment district overlooking Lake Grapevine along with a nearby live/work/stay complex featuring Thirty-One Eleven Sunset and a future Marriott Autograph Collection hotel. The more distinctive name will assist efforts to position the new attractions in the minds of North Texans.

“We believe people from all over North Texas will visit our restaurants overlooking Lake Grapevine,” said Archie, “if they hear about them. We need to help them distinguish our location from all the other ‘Lakesides.’”

The Lakeside DFW name was first associated with the property in the nineties when Flower Mound officials envisioned the Stewart’s 160 acres as an office park. But even as the property was developed as a mixed-use community, the name stuck (although the “DFW” was eliminated in 2019).

The re-branding of Lakeside includes a new symbol designed to convey an elevated sense of lake living that replaces the friendly wave of the former logo.

Known as a quatrefoil (or four leaves), the new shape symbolizes harmony, symmetry, and proportion. It evokes sophistication, as evidenced by brands such as Tiffany & Co., Hermes, and the Town of Highland Park (to name a few).

Promotion of the new name has already begun on social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Signage in and around the community will change as quickly as possible.

It may take months for the last vestiges of the familiar Lakeside “wave” to ride into the sunset. Meanwhile, the Lakeside Village community will continue to evolve and grow — getting better all the time.
